I Don't know about you;

But after lockdown, I have no idea what days or weeks are! Then again, I'm unsure if I knew what they were in the first place.

This is going to be a super quick and cheerful update to keep you all posted on the progress of the project, and what better way than Gantt charts? (Seriously if you know a better way, Let Me Know... I spent far too much time on this)

Grey = Completed | Light Green = In Progress | Dark Green = Future

 The major setback at the moment is waiting on the funds to release from Kickstarter. They give you an approximate guesstimation of a fortnight for funds to clear, but I have a horrible feeling this one might take a little longer.

To That end, I'm still on track (for now) to be fully posted by the end of August, and I shall update you every step of the way!

 On a positive note, the front of the J-Card has almost been completely designed, and you should have received a survey yesterday asking what name you would like to show on the J-Card! The sooner you fill this in, the earlier I'll be able to request proofs from the printer! Let me know what you think of the design (please remember I'm the audio guy - I may as well be as blind as a bat when it comes to visuals). Any and all comments will be taken into consideration! You can comment on the update, or drop me a message on twitter @bearly_Matt

The Campaign is Over

You reading this,     Yes, you.    You're awesome.

Over thirty days, 28 fantastic people pledged an incredible £381 to make The Wretched a reality.

I can't thank you all in enough words, so I have employed the very apt persona of Nick Offerman to try and convey my gratitude.

It's super sad to say that for you guys, the journey is going to take a little pit-stop. Your job is over, and mine is really going to kick in!

First thing's first; all the J-Card and Obi-Strip design and layouts need to be edited to specification, and finalised before I can send them off to the printers. Doing it this way will allow me to quite literally bulk-order all the raw materials for the project. Whilst that's being dispatched, I can get the Cassette master all up to snuff; there's quite a lot of sonic idiosyncrasies to account for when you prepare a digital => cassette release!

 I'll post more updates as soon as I've worked on something! Next update will be some delightful Gantt charts to keep you in the loop.

Remember you guys are awesome,

Matt

We've Done It

The Cassette is officially funded! In just under 48 hours, all you delightful, magnificent people have made this dream a reality.  I need to remember that the journey is still just beginning, and there's a lot of work, logistics and old-fashioned elbow grease ahead.

I suppose the fact we still have a good couple days before the end of the funding period means that we really should knock our heads together and figure out how we can rope more people into this analogue endeavour! The best way, I guess, is in the most hyped up word in Kickstarter's vocabulary: Stretch Goals.

There's a couple things I have in mind, and I hope you agree that they're the best options available, whilst also making the project a homemade, handcrafted work of passion and love. So without further ado;

Wait a Minute! What's On-Body Cassette Printing?

In short, it means that a delightful stamp will be custom-made to print directly on the cassette plastic, rather than using a printed label!

Okay, tell me about this CD malarky...

Much like choosing the recycled plastic casing for the cassette, the supplier BandCDs have a great eco-friendly option for CD packaging;

These beauties are made from recycled egg boxes instead of plastic, and have a central cork stud to mount the CD on. I know that having a cassette release is quite limiting, so being able to provide a physical medium that appeals to a larger audience would be fantastic!

If we reach the final stretch goal, there will be an included 4-page booklet with some custom artwork inspired by Taneo's journey! (I reeeeeeaaaaally hope we reach this goal)

In Conclusion:

You, yes you reading this, you're awesome.  Thank you for making this weird nerd's dream a reality; what you're going to receive digitally, or through the post is going to be a labour of love that you helped to create. I'm going to make the best release I can for you
